What PowerSell reads, sends and keeps.

Effective 16 October 2026

What PowerSell is

PowerSell researches the companies you sell to and scores how well your catalogue fits them. It runs as a web app at https://powersell-two.vercel.app, as a desktop app, and as a Chrome extension. This policy covers all three and says where the extension differs.

What the Chrome extension reads

The extension works out which company the page in front of you is about. To do that it reads, on your own machine:

  • The address and title of the tab you have open, to tell whether it is a company record in HubSpot, Salesforce or Attio, or a company’s own website. Addresses stay in your browser. Only the one company name or domain the page resolves to leaves it.
  • On LinkedIn company pages and Crunchbase organization pages, the link to the company’s own website, so the panel can score that company rather than the site you are reading it on.
  • Text you select and send to PowerSell yourself through the right-click menu.

What it does not read

The extension does not read the contents of any other page, does not keep a record of the sites you visit, and does not run on pages you have not opened. It has no analytics and no tracking of its own.

What is sent, and why

The company name or domain is sent to PowerSell’s own API together with the session token for your account. The API looks the company up through third-party search and language-model providers, scores the fit against your seller profile, and returns the result to the panel. When you ask for full research, the same providers run a longer report, which is saved to your account so you can open it in the web app.

Each provider receives only what that step needs: the company being researched and the question being asked. None of them receives your email address or your browsing.

What is stored

On your machine, the extension keeps two things, both in Chrome’s session storage:

  • The session handed over from the web app, so the panel can act as you. Session storage is memory only and is cleared when Chrome closes, which is why you reconnect after a restart. The extension writes nothing to disk.
  • Which company each open tab resolved to, so the panel can answer straight away when you open it. This is removed when the tab closes.

On our servers

Your account is your email address. Alongside it we keep the seller profile you set up, the companies you have scored, and the reports you have run, in a database hosted by Supabase. Research runs are counted against your plan. The web app is hosted by Vercel.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than the processors named above, each of which handles only the part of the service it provides. We do not use it to train models.

Your choices

Signing out of the web app ends the session the extension holds, and so does closing Chrome. Removing the extension from chrome://extensions removes everything it kept. To delete your account and the reports under it, write to the address below and we will do it.
